Improve your driving for a chance to win a £200 Amazon gift card each week!
The innovative driver feedback device installed in your cab will give you a variety of real-time visual & audio prompts based on how you are driving.
These include feedback on speeding, harsh braking, sharp cornering, and aggressive acceleration.
Simply adjust your driving style based on these prompts & then check out your driver score at the end of your journey.
At the end of each week those drivers with the highest score get a chance to win a £200 Amazon gift card each week.
Get rewarded for becoming a safer & more efficient driver. It’s a win-win!
How the driver feedback device works
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to use the provided RFID card or can I use any?
You must use the card that has been allocated as the card’s code is linked with your driver account on the system.
How accurate are the driving behaviour thresholds?
The thresholds/trigger points for the driver feedback events is specific to the vehicle type and characteristics that you are driving. The thresholds have been road tested and analysed over years’ worth of collected data to ensure precision.
What happens if I don’t present my RFID card?
Not presenting your card at the start of the trip means that the driver feedback device will continue to beep throughout the journey to prompt for this. It will also be visible to system users that the vehicle is being driven without a logged driver and these exceptions can be reported on.
Do I have to present my card for every single journey?
No, there is a 15 minute window between ignition cycles that means you shouldn’t have to present the card for every journey. If a new journey (ignition cycle) is started after 15 minutes have passed since your last journey (last ignition end) then you will be prompted to present your card again.
Does the camera record when my ignition is turned off?
No, the camera recording is only live when the vehicle’s ignition is on. When the ignition is turned the camera will initialise and when the LED’s flash green the recording has started.
Can I improve my poor score with good driving?
Yes, the score that is used for reporting and the prize draw uses data over the full week. This means that even if you have a poor journey your score can stay high or climb back up following some smoother driving.
How much will I be penalised for triggering an event?
Drivers are not unfairly penalised for triggering sporadic events in their journeys. Unexpected things happen on the road which may force you to have to break or accelerate at a slightly higher rate. The score that is provided at the end of the week is comprised of overall driving style rather than punishing drivers for a small number of events.
Combining Trakm8’s RH600 integrated telematics and camera with the driver feedback device provides all the benefits of camera telematics with added functionality of intuitive driving behaviour coaching.
You will now need to present your allocated RFID card at the start of your trip so that journeys can be logged against the your name. Drivers will then receive a weekly summary of their driving behaviour score and activity summary for the week, the drivers that achieve the highest scores for the week will be entered into a prize draw and contacted directly via their email address.
Driver ID Card Entry
The driver feedback device connects to the RH600 camera via Bluetooth and you will be prompted to present your unique RFID card at the start of the trip. The below icons and prompts can be seen via the driver feedback device:
You will be presented with the following icon and the
device will beep shortly after switching the ignition on.
Present your RFID card to the driver feedback device. Upon
detection, the following icon will be presented on the display
coupled with a single low-pitched beep from the device.
In-cab Driver Feedback
The below images provide examples of driving behaviour prompts that can be seen via the driver feedback device. These feedback prompts are triggered by driving style and are intended to coach drivers back into safe and efficient driving. Each event type can be triggered as low or high threshold which reflects the harshness of the driving style, typically the display will show the low threshold triggering silently via icon and the high thresholds with an icon and an audible beep.
The harsh acceleration, cornering and braking events are all measured using G-force and are triggered when the peak value of G-force measured exceeds the allocated threshold. RPM is measured directly from the vehicle and excessive speeding uses a top speed threshold that is configurable.
Excessive RPM
Excessive Speeding
Harsh Acceleration
Harsh Braking
Sharp Cornering
Driver Scoring
You will receive a weekly report by email that details your weekly score as well as some headline information regarding your weekly activity. Driver scores are impacted by the number of events that have been triggered. The weekly data is run through an algorithm which takes into account total distance and event types and provides the driver with a score out of 100 as a percentage to allow for the drivers to be compared fairly regardless of their driving distance and driving duration for the reporting timeframe.
